African Diaspora Archaeology Newsletter

ISSN: 1933-8651

Contributions

The African Diaspora Archaeology Newsletter addresses the subject areas of African diasporas worldwide and related archaeological and historical studies. Our Newsletter issues serve a readership of several thousand stakeholders, researchers, and educators across the globe.

The African-American Archaeology Newsletter (AAAN) was founded, edited, and published by Theresa Singleton from 1990 through 1993. The AAAN was edited and published by Thomas Wheaton from 1993 through 1996 and by John McCarthy from 1996 through 2000. Chris Fennell edited and published the renamed African Diaspora Archaeology Newsletter (ADAN) from 2005 through 2012. The ADAN was edited by Whitney Battle-Baptiste, Kelley Fanto Deetz and Christopher Barton, with assistance from Justin Dunnavant, Ayana Flewellen, and Marc Lorenc from 2013 through 2021 (compiled in one issue labeled Spring 2015). Fennell resumed editing and publishing in 2022.

Please contact Chris Fennell (cfennell@illinois.edu) if you have essays, analysis papers, project reports, announcements, book reviews, or news updates that you would like to contribute to this newsletter. News, announcements, and current discussions are available on our Twitter page at @AfArchHeritage (link) and on (Facebook). Thanks!
